When your child admits they're doubting, every ins When your child admits they're doubting, every instinct says fix it. Argue harder. Lecture longer. Panic quietly.

But the first thing they need to know is that they're still safe with you.

These steps come from my conversation with Catherine Segars on the momQ Podcast, a mom of five who walked through this with her own oldest.

Your child is more afraid to tell you than you are Your child is more afraid to tell you than you are to hear it.

When Catherine Segars’ daughter finally admitted her doubts, Catherine had no idea what to say. In that moment, she looked at her and said:

“There is nothing you can think, say, or do that will ever change my love for you.”

And she watched her daughter breathe again.

That’s the way God loves us. And it’s the way He calls us to love our kids, even when what they’re wrestling with scares us. Love doesn’t mean we stop caring about what they believe. It means they never have to wonder whether they’re still safe with us.

If your child is doubting, questioning, or pulling away, this conversation is for you. Listen to Episode 142 of the momQ Podcast, “What to do when your child questions God,” with Catherine Segars. Link in bio.

Meet Rachel. Mom of four in Austin. She started motherhood as an exhausted single mom, and God used that season to build a faith she still leans on today.

When she was hard on herself for simple dinners and fewer activities, her momQ Mentor Mom gave her words that set her free: ‘Then you can rest in that decision and be at peace letting everything else fall into place around it.’

Mama, you don’t have to do it all to be doing it well.

You’re wiping the counter for the third time, half You’re wiping the counter for the third time, half-listening to a story your kid really wants you to hear, already running through tomorrow’s schedule in your head.

None of that is wrong. Someone has to keep the house running.

But it’s possible to spend the whole day serving and never once sit with the One you’re serving.

Jesus didn’t ask Martha to stop cooking. He invited her to sit. That invitation isn’t only for moms with quiet mornings and empty sinks. It’s for you, right in the middle of the mess. 🤍

What’s one thing you could set down for five minutes today to sit with Him?
