Name: Michelle Thomason

City/State: Austin Tx

Kids’ Names & Ages: Camden (9) and Chandler(7)

‍♀️ Her Story & Calling

How has motherhood shaped your relationship with God?

I have learned to completely surrender my children to Him. I know the only reason I was able to have children was my breakthrough in fully surrendering my “unexplained infertility” to the Lord. I worry less about my kids because I know they were His before they became mine.

What part of your identity have you had to rediscover (or release) in this season?

Release control in a season of unknowns after a job loss.

Is there a Scripture that’s grounding you right now?

“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:26-27 ESV)

Faith in the Everyday

What does quiet time look like for you lately? Messy, sacred, or both?

Mostly sacred. I start each morning with prayer and gratitude before my feet hit the floor. If I don’t get my bible time in first thing, we all integrate a quiet reading time in our day.

How do you see God show up in the ordinary moments of your day?

His patience and provision. A hug or phone call at the moment you need it. The doors He has opened for my husband taking a leap of faith in his business, and friends who unknowingly offer to take my kids for a play date when I’m running on empty.

What prayer have you been praying most often?

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” (Colossians 3:2 ESV)

Grace Over Perfection

When was a recent moment you had to give yourself (or your kids) grace?

When my son forgot his racket and water bottle for his tennis lesson. I have to remember I too forget things.

What would you say to the mom who feels like she’s not doing enough?

God says we are already sufficient in Him in Colossians 2:9-10. NOT through works, your kids accomplishments, or your career or bank account.

What’s something God is gently teaching you right now?

To trust in the Lord’s timing and have patience sitting still in a season of unknowns with the future of  my husband’s career. God reminds me over and over that the best way I can support my husband is to just love and support him.

Wisdom & Legacy

What do you want your children to remember most about you?

My ability to repent and ask for forgiveness when I’m wrong. (I mess up  a lot ) The ability to have a high risk tolerance rooted in faith. Also, I secretly hope they remember my love for nature, gardening, and cooking!

What’s one truth you return to when things feel heavy?

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23)

Finish this sentence:  “Being a mom with faith means…

Intentionally rooting my family on the foundations of God’s word, nurturing, and guiding my children to Jesus Christ.

Other Thoughts

If you could write a note to yourself 5 years ago (or 5 years from now), what would you say?

“You will go through excruciatingly hard seasons, but they will pass. Lean into the Lord and praise Him through the mountains and valleys. Journal your prayer requests no matter how small so you have something to look back on and remember how God hears and responds.

Favorite Scripture or Prayer

“Father, I pray that you would grant me a deep wisdom in regards to ________ and reveal a deep innate knowledge of your power, restoration, and glory through me.”

How to Create Spiritual Rhythms for Your Family

Perhaps the most encouraging place to begin is with one small habit — trusting God to use faithfulness in ordinary moments over time. Spiritual rhythms don’t require perfection — just intentionality. As you align your family’s daily rhythms with God’s presence, He will do the forming work.

How to Cultivate Thankfulness in My Family

God certainly cares about our problems!
He knows the pressures we face, and He doesn’t feel pleasure watching us fight wearily through each day. While we shouldn’t minimize our difficulties, it’s important to remember that God is bigger than any problem we face. Taking our eyes off Jesus to focus on our problems is a tactic from the enemy to keep us from experiencing the abundant life. It’s important to bring our hardships to God, but it’s equally important to thankfully remember all He’s done for us in the past. Acknowledging His past provision reminds us of His good plan to provide for us in the future.

Parenting with Courage: Choosing God’s Way Over the World’s Way

Some days, parenting feels like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces.
You plan, you pray, you do everything “right,” and then life throws a curveball. A surprise diagnosis. A sudden move. A schedule that turns upside down. And suddenly, the world seems to have all the answers, but none of them align with how God is leading your family. This is where bold faith comes in, choosing to trust God, even when your instincts—or everyone else’s opinions—tell you to panic.
