Learning to Reflect God’s Heart When Parenting Feels Hard

by Sue McAlinden | Feb 8, 2026 | Marriage & Relationships, Parenting|Spiritual Growth

A few evenings ago, I brushed my teeth, changed into my pajamas, climbed into bed, and tried to sleep. My eyes were closed, but I struggled to relax. Unwanted thoughts about one of our children’s behaviors blinked on and off in my head like a neon sign flashing in a...

by Jasmine Luter | Jan 26, 2026 | Marriage & Relationships, Parenting|Spiritual Growth

What does rooted faith in motherhood look like for you and your family in everyday life? If we’re honest, it’s usually not dramatic. It doesn’t always involve a quiet morning, uninterrupted prayer, or a perfectly planned spiritual rhythm. Most of the time, faith shows...

You worked all day. You poured everything in. And You worked all day.
You poured everything in.
And tomorrow it looks exactly the same.

If that’s where you are right now, this one is for you.

Ashlee shared the farmer metaphor on the momQ podcast this week and I haven’t stopped thinking about it.

The mom who keeps going back to God isn’t failing. The mom who keeps going back to God isn’t failing.
She’s doing exactly what mercy is for.
Shame will tell you you’ve done this too many times.
That you should have it together by now.
But Lamentations 3:22–23 says His mercies are new every morning.
Not when you’ve earned it.
Every morning.
So when you fall, and you will, the move isn’t to hide.
It’s to turn back.
That’s not weakness.
That’s what faith actually looks like.
🤍 Save this for the next time shame tries to keep you down.

Shame's first instinct is to make you disappear. B Shame's first instinct is to make you disappear. But mercy? Mercy comes looking for you.

From the very beginning — Adam and Eve hiding in the garden — God's response to shame wasn't judgment. It was pursuit.

You don't have to get it together first. You don't have to clean yourself up. He meets you right where the hiding is.
